The reasons for YEA – It’s not money but energy

Fast read

Your Energy Answers was created to educate us about the crucial role of energy in our lives and how the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy is vital for our planet.

Recognising that energy underpins all of life's necessities, the channel encourages everyone to become 'energy literate'.

Through informative content, Your Energy Answers.com aims to help individuals understand the impacts of energy consumption, debunk public confusion about renewable energy, and emphasise how decentralising energy production can lead to a more sustainable society.

The goal is to empower individuals to take control of their energy use, promote renewable solutions, and to facilitate the global transition towards a more sustainable energy future.

So why did we create Your Energy Answers?

Money makes the world go around. We live in a world driven by money. We work for it, we spend it, and most of us try hard to save some of it. But have you ever stopped to think about what really makes the world go around?

Let me shed a light on why it’s not money, but energy.

Energy is all around us from the moment we are born to the clothes we wear, the food we eat, and the gadgets we use; unlike money, energy’s not a manmade concept. It’s a fundamental part of the universe. Each one of us has an energy footprint, and depending on where you live, it varies from city to country.

In the developed world, we use between 20 to 30 kilowatt hours average per day per person. To put that in perspective, that’s the equivalent of charging your phone more than 1000 times a day. As the world moves towards electrifying everything, we are going to require more and more energy.

Energy equals Currency
We are driven by money, but money is only energy in another form because, without energy, we could not buy anything with money

Why does this matter?

It matters because it’ll help drive the change in the way we think and use energy because countless walls have been fought over energy, especially dirty energy. Continuing with this trend will only cause more. Pain and suffering.

We now have all the tools and technology to enable us to transition to a renewable solution without destroying our planet. The battle line has been drawn between the old energy and renewables. Politicians and media have contributed to public confusion about renewable and fossil fuel energy.

2020 – In the Australian Federal Parliament

Scott Morrison, Treasurer: “This is coal. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be scared.”

Speaker: “The treasurer knows the rule on props”

It’s coal that is causing a divide between each other. But the transition period towards renewable is impacting the cost of living crisis across the world. As the old energy producers are losing dominance, we all know; eventually, we will run out of the old dinosaur juice.

But for the time being, there are still trillions of barrels of oil to be sold. I don’t think anyone who has a vested interest in oil energy wants to suddenly stop making money. We need to look at how we control our own energy destiny. So what can we do as individuals by being an energy producer rather than an energy consumer?

There are still trillions of barrels of oil in the ground – and their owners do not want us to stop the fossil fuel dependency – because they would lose a lot of money

So the proposition is this, think of energy as currency. We all want to be financially literate. Now it’s time for us to be energy literate. We are constantly converting energy into currency, which we call money. We use money to buy the things we need or want, but at the heart of every transaction is the energy that powers it all.

When energy cost goes up, everything goes up. Prices for food, clothing, shelter, and all other necessity of life skyrocket, leaving people to struggle to make ends meet.

This is not the way it has to be

We have the technology, knowledge, and resources to create a world where everyone has access to clean, affordable, renewable energy.

It’s time for us to take control of our own energy future and move away from the centralised system that is harming humanity. By decentralising the way we produce and use energy, we can create a more sustainable and equitable society.

So the next time, take a step back and look around. By placing the energy currency on everything, perhaps we can make a better decision to make the world a better place. So it’s not money but energy that makes the world go around. We all can do our part, spark the change in the energy revolution, and you can do your part by subscribing to our channel.
